Conde del Mar (playa Panama) Beach front, long, white sandy beach, no surf, kid friendly. Moderately priced Very well kept gardens, various Restaurants, bar & beautiful pool, family oriented.

Thanks so much! Conde del Mar looks like an option for us. A comment from TripAdvisor stated construction at Bosque del Mar at present. Any info on La Finisterra or Bahia del Sol? I am contemplating whether to book ahead or take my chances for a better deal when I get there. We, unfortunately, don’t speak Spanish. (I say that somewhat ashamedly as it seems to me it is better to at least get some basics down if you are going to be in someone else’s country). However, do most of the non-chain hotels have English-speaking personnel?
Most of the staff at the hotels in Costa Rica speak English. They may not all be fluent but they know enough to do business and help you out. It’s pretty much a requirement to speak English if you want a job in the service industry here.
